Welcome to the sleepy little town of Somerset. On the surface, we seem pretty average. Dig a little deeper, however, and you'll find that, like everywhere else, we have our secrets.
Somerset isn't exactly what it seems. The town was founded back in the late 1800's by Edward Somerset. For about twenty years, the people lived somewhat peacefully, if not with a growing feeling of despair. When Somerset's youngest daughter, Chelsea, died suddenly, things took a turn for the worse. People started going mad, dying, and disappearing on a regular basis. Several murders even occurred. Finally, after eleven people died in a fire, the townspeople decided they'd had enough. Those that were left took their families and left town as quickly as possible and never spoke of Somerset again, not even to their children.
The town remained a ghost town for almost a century, until everyone that remembered what had happened there was gone. Somerset has recently fallen under new administration, however, and they are marketing it as a sweet, sleepy little town with America roots to bring people back to it. Though they do not know it, the descendants of the original inhabitants are drawn to it in ways they cannot understand, and new inhabitants may find that the old inhabitants didn't leave the town all alone.
While the town is really just a small town where completely normal things might happen, it also has a darker underside. A hidden evil lies in wait deep within the town, keeping the residents there, in life and death. While some claim to have felt the presence of ghosts, others come to realize that the town changes them inside. These residents have caught the affliction, have you?
